Goodbye Mrs. Ray
Sad news today from New Hampshire where the oldest person in the U.S. died today, and no, there is no truth to the rumor that she died from, well, living in New Hampshire. Anyway, Mrs. Ray’s passing (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100308/ap_on_re_us/us_oldest_american) led me to a morbid thought. If you know that you’re the second-oldest person in the U.S., do you want the oldest person to pass away thereby giving you the title? For that reason, but not that reason alone (since I’m planning on 80 and nothing more), I hope to never become the oldest person in the U.S. I wouldn’t want to be in the position of knowing that the end of someone’s life would put me in an honored position. I guess I’m not cut out for Vice President of the United States then either.
I think the rumor is true. She defs died from living in New Hampshire!
